Hello Group
I recently moved mrtg-2.9.0pre23 off an NT4 server onto a different NT4 SP6
server and updated to mrtg-2.9.7. Since then the server application event
log is continuously recording events related to mrtg in groups of 3 as
follows:-
event 1:
The service failed to shutdown correctly due to subprocess being unable to
be killed. Error code: 5.
event 2:
Subprocess monitoring failed due to subprocess is no longer active. The
subprocess is probably dead. Restarting the process. Error code: 203.
event 3:
The FireDaemon process was started.
The sequence of events occurs approximately every 30 seconds and otherwise
MRTG appears to be working as the logs are updating and graphs etc are
working. I run several config files off a single firedaemon service, and
poll about 250 device interfaces which are a mixture of routers and switch
ports. It appears to be unrelated to the config as all configs produce the
same results whether run individually or collectively, or as individual
firedaemon services.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
