what do you want to monitor?

What you are basically askin is equivalent to:

"What can I spell with the 26 letters of the alphabet?"

or

"How do I get from China to San Francisco?"

or

"What can I do for fun in Amsterdam?"

or any other vague statement you can think of.

There are a million things/ways.....

We need to know what you want to monitor in order to really help you out.

I believe doing a quick perusal of the maillist archive will provide you with a taste of what can be done.

I have monitored things such as temperature on a variety of devices, modem counts, signal-to-noise ratio for a cable modem network, memory/load/etc on servers, number of users we have (separating dialin users vs. email only), ATM PVCs, blah, blah, blah, and so on......

I have seen wave heigth, ambient outdoor temperature, number of cokes in a vending machine, etc. graphed by others.

I believe everyone on this list wants to help everyone else out, but this is so vague that it creates more work for us to a) figure out what you want or b) 'sanitize' the configs we all use for public posting

So, to wrap up, please tell us what you want. Are you an ISP? A home-user with a DSL connection? A small business?
