[mrtg] cfgmaker for one ip?

I am looking for a way to have mrtg to poll one interface on a router rather than
everything it can find, i'd like to script it all so ideally what i'm looking 
for is cfgmaker or cfgmaker_ip  snmp at router , where router is the ip address of 
the interface i want to poll. It seems like this would be possible with the -M 
option of cfgmaker_ip but that would fail for anything with a ptr record in dns.
any ideas?
