[mrtg] Suggestions please

Hi all,
I need a suggestion to a case:
We need to show Uptime on a NT server, in a simple manner. We tryed
using the following:
Target[QP-NBL01-On-Off]:  <mailto:Target[QP-NBL01-On-Off]:
ifOperStatus.1&ifAdminStatus.1:public at 192.168.96.34>
ifOperStatus.1&ifAdminStatus.1:public at 192.168.96.34
Options[QP-NBL01-On-Off]: growright, gauge, withzeroes, noinfo,
unknaszero
 
But this mesurment will "fill in" the "not mesured" points when the
server comes up ageing after a down.
We have also triyed PING, but this gives to mutch variation in the
values.
 
What we need is a simple Yes / No if the server is up.
