You might want to read the reference documentation. It will give you a
lot of information on various configurations. But here's the one you're
looking for:

LogFormat
Setting LogFormat to 'rrdtool' in your mrtg.cfg file enables rrdtool
mode. In rrdtool mode, mrtg relies on rrdtool to do its logging. Graphs
and html pages will be generated on the fly by the 14all.cgi which can
be found in the contrib section together with a short readme ... This
feature has been contributed by Rainer.Bawidamann at informatik.uni-ulm.de.
