The value will keep getting higher until the counters loop but place a red

Instead of 'gauge' try using 'perhour' or 'perminute'

Use the 'Colours[]:' parameter, again, read the docs.
Please note: Although I have not used this option, Tobi has spelt it
correctly in the docs, ie not 'colors' :-)
