This is embarrassing, I just sent a note describing how Forks made my linux
machine run so much faster.  I had applied this right before the holiday and
had just now checked all the graphs.  The reason the macine responded so
much faster is that it did not accept the Forks option and all polling had
stopped.  I got graphs very quickly but they were the same old graphs from
days ago.  Forks may be a wonderful thing but right now it is not working
for me.
