I am running mrtg on a WinNT box. The following is on the FIRST line of the
cfg file: 
WorkDir: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Mrtg
Works great. Didn't have to escape the backslashes. Not sure if WorkDir is
case sensitive. Have you installed the windows version from the zip file? It
should work w/out problems.

Try d:\\inetpub\\mrtg\\data or d:/inetpub/mrtg/data

It's a pity that the MS-DOS dir char '\' is the perl escape char, so, 
strange things can happen to your filenames/directories when you have 
tem inside strings.

I've never used MRTG in DOS land, so I'm not sure about this one, but it 
may work.
