Jose,

As stated in a few different e-mails...let me suggest a few things.

1. RTFM. Although your problem has nothing to do with MRTG, it does have some pointers to help resolve this issue.

2. Put a better subject line in. Users search the archives for a lot of different information, and your subject line could have been something more helpful for us to help you, like "Problem with target" or "Host not resolving."

3. Once given some suggestions - try them. Don't keep posting the same crap to the list. At least tell us that you have tried the suggestion and it did not work.

My bet is that you can't ping bci from your mrtg box...so you have two choices:

1 - Fix DNS so that bci maps to an ip address.

2 - try to run cfgmaker with the ip address. If you built the file from scratch, put the ip address in instead of the host name bci for the target.

Finally, if you post the same message again without either changing the subject line or telling us the results of some of the other suggestions, you will be removed from the mrtg user list.

you were already given 3 suggestions to fix this.

Did you try any of them?

We are here to guide, not do the work for you.
