I had a situation like that a few months ago, where it turned out that the
machine we were running mrtg on was set to UTC instead of EST5EDT, I
solved the problem by writing a perl script that opened the logfile, then
added 5 hours of timeticks to the timestamp of every entry, then wrote out
the log again. That worked like a charm, but I no longer have the script.
Hope that helps,

I would like to modify the mrtg logs to account for data that were
not monitored since mrtg could not run for a couple of days.
How would I approach this?
