The default hardware is no greater than the hardware you need to run the OS.
beyond that, if you plan on running MRTG with RATEUP (as opposed to RRDTool
with 14All) then you want lots of ram and a good, fast HD.
as for me, I run about ... 7-10 .cfg files, each .cfg file has about 24
targets (24 port switches) and I run mrtg on a RedHat7.1 box with a slow 6GB
hard drive and 64 MB ram - If I were to monitor much more than that, I would
need to upgrade the hardware or move over to RRDTool...

Does anyone know the recommended hardware requirements for MRTG?
