[mrtg] Build Q

I am using the rrdtool log file for mrtg.  When building MRTG I do so
through a spec file creating a RPM.  My question is how complicated is
it to remove the GD and GD-Devel build requirements from Mrtg?  The
reason I ask is if you are trying to build a "small and clean" rpm there
is no need for GD if you are only going to use rrdtool and not rateup.  

So is this reasonable and possible?
