[mrtg] cfgmaker not finding all ip aliases

i believe i figured out my aggregating ip aliase traffic problem
by using the "port" syntax of 2:public at host.com: + 3:public at host.com
but i have yet to see if this is actually correct.
now i can't seem to get cfgmaker to see all the available interfaces
on a host, it finds eth0 and eth1 but ignores eth0:1-4
net-snmp is configured exactly the same on another machine and it
was able to find all the aliases, this was a solaris machine though.
could something about linux be preventing cfgmaker from probing
for all the aliases?
