Here is my take.....
Unless the link is really seriously broken, the error rate is going to
be much less than 1 a second, which is going to (with integer aritmetic)
slide-rule out (that is a metaphor for realy old times, isn't it?) to
right around zero.
I don't have the arithmetic at hand an I'm too lazy to go dig it out
but the approach I use is to do the arithmetic necessary to get from
the "bytes per second" kind of thinking that MRTG does when unmolested
to "errors per hour" which I then graph.
