[mrtg] problem with mrtg ping script

Hi,
I am running MRTG on Solaris 7.
I tried to use Mr. Jeshua Wright script for monitoring ping and latency
(please find attached).
And received the following error message. 
Problem with external get ‘perl ./mrtgtest.cfg
Expected a number for ‘in’ but got ‘ ‘
 I will appreciate your help with this or if any one can point me to an easy
to use other RTR / latency mrtg script.
