[mrtg] Making more sense of large values

I'm monitoring CRC errors on a  cisco ethernet unfortunately due to the high number of collisions the graph is fairly meaningless.  Would the best way around this be to just monitor the say last 4 characters of the returned value, so for instance if the CRC count is 10,123,456 MRTG only plots 3,456 on the graph.  Basically I want the graph to be more representative of the errors I'm seeing.
