But on a serious note.. I experienced different degrees of performance.
although CPU isn't everything, it matters. Putting MRTG on 100+ hosts with a
P1 90mhz isn't going to be wise.
Also keep in mind that there's a web frontend, how many people will use
this? I've seen different result when using MRTG vs RRDTool. MRTG presents
graphs faster in HTML (or am I wrong ?) RRDtool collects data more
efficiently.
What's your target number ? 10, 20, 50. I'm runnig several instances of MRTG
polling 10-15 devices on a compaq 5166 (p1 166mhz) with 32mb ram, no problem
there.
