Nope I tried /4 , / 4 , *.25 , * .25 and still I get the combined total of
all 4 items.

I don't know if it's a typo in the mail but make sure you have a space
between the '/' and the '4'
Try putting it on several lines, ie
Target[some_device]: OID&OID:public at IP +
OID&OID:public at IP +
OID&OID:public at IP +
OID&OID:public at IP / 4
It makes reading easier.
