[mrtg] Cisco Mib Problem

Greetings all,

I’m currently writing a custom graphing solution for our enterprise
network and I’ve run into a bit of a snafu. I wonder if one of the gurus
here may have an answer for me.. ☺

Given a Cisco router (In this case, a 7200), I have several
interfaces on it. On this particular router, we needed to use tagging to
break the FastEthernet into several subinterfaces. I want to be able to
graph traffic, errors, and a host of other things for these subinterfaces.
How do I generate a mib address for these interfaces? If I use ifDesc, the
subs aren’t listed. The only way I’ve been able to do it thus far is to use
the / notation in mrtg. (ie, ifInOctets/1.2.3.4&ifOutOctets/1.2.3.4)

Any thoughts?
