No, MRTG doesn't need a MIB to poll devices. Just use the full OID
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9....1 etc.

1. yes you can add other targets for your 2 new needs
2. I think you need a MIB (and the 2 specific OIDs) whenever you want to
poll via SNMP, don't you ?

Objet : [mrtg] monitoring interface errors help

I'm new to mrtg. I've got it running collecting interface utilization
or my

routers. I need to collect data on interface errors. My question is
"Do I
have to run cfgmaker with options for ifInErrors & ifOutErrors" or can I

just add another target to my current .cfg file with the ifInErrors &
IfOutErrors. I shouldn't need a mib for that device? I can snmp poll
those
variables fine. Any help would be appreciated.
