If you are using RRDtool already and are able to create graphs you can
do this at 1am, right?  Just use the schedular of your choice and fire
off a job that creates the graphics.

This doesn't need to be done at 1am precisely if you just include
a "--end 01:00" line in the graph creating script.

And unless your box is slow you can even do this on demand, using a
slightly modified version of 14all.cgi for instance.

Free tip: spend some time on the rrd tutorial written by yours
truly.
