I have exausted my resources so now its time to ask you wonderful people.

Question 1:

I'm using RedHat 7.1 and SNMP 4.2.2

I'm trying to monitor the cpu of a desktop that has RedHat 7.1 on it
SNMP 4.2.2.

I can succesfully get memory usage from the machine, but not cpu. Below is
an example of me getting memory and then getting an error for CPU. The OID
for CPU is supposed to be part of MIB-II and MIB-II is supposed to come
with SNMP 4.2.2

[rprice at bovupunda ~]$ snmpget -m ALL bovupunda public
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.11.0
enterprises.ucdavis.memory.memTotalFree.0 = 461544

[rprice at bovupunda ~]$ snmpget -m ALL bovupunda public
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.5.1.1.1.0
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.5.1.1.1.0: Unknown Object Identifier (Index out of
range: 0 (hrSWRunIndex))

The oid .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.5.1.1.1.0 is supposed to be a measure of CPU in
MIB-II according to http://crc.somix.com/cgi-bin/Mib2Mrtg.exe. I have
tried everything in UCD-SNMP FAQ.

Any ideas?

If any one has any .cfg files working that monitor cpu, disk space and any
network activity please send them my way.

Question 2:

Any ideas why snmpd would crash every so often? Ther doesn't seem to be
one specific thing I do to make it crash. It appears to random.

Thanks,

Ron Price
