[mrtg] Detail-level in RRD/MRTG-data files

Hi

A similar question was posted a week ago, but it has not been answered.

Is it possible to increase the detail-level of an RRD or MRTG-database file, so it's possible to create graphs several weeks/months backwards, with greater detail than 1 hour/1day ?

Is it MRTG or RRDTool that sumarizes the data?
