John,
Problem is that there is not such as 'the Microsft OID' that shows te
OID's under the '.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.microsoft'
entry. With the perf2mib utility you can create your own mib file, based
on the parts of the performance monitor that you want to be able to poll
with SNMP. So everyone ends up with its own oid's. Since Microsoft
delivers an example how to use the perf2mib utility with memory, cpu,
network and physical disk entries, most configurations end up with
these.
If you want to know which oid belongs to what on a system, you have to
look at the perfmib.ini file in the %systemroot%\system32 directory.
Unfortunately this is not a file you can use with a mib browser :-(
If you did not use the perf2mib utility to enhance your snmp counters
but downloaded an extension from the internet, you probably got one or
more mib files with it. This ones you can put in the MIB directory below
your getif directory.

Subject: [mrtg] Windows NT/2k OID's
Does anyone know of a good place on the internet to get Microsoft OID's?
Or does anyone have a list of NT/2k OID's? Especially OID's for CPU,
Memory, Disk Space, etc. Basic OID's. Using GetIF, and other
utilities, doesn't give you the Microsoft detail. Also doing an SNMP
walk only produces raw data, not detailed at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
John L.
