overquoted has nothing to do with the subject. it has to do with people not deleting unnecessary info from the quoted message, such as signatures, before replying.

Basically, if you are going to send an email on a new subject, do not reply to anything - just send a brand new email to mrtg at list.ee.ethz.ch

just a little bit of "netiquette" - you see, people that use a real mailer (read: mutt) see all those messages grouped together by thread. if you just send a new message, it starts a new thread....
