[mrtg] Lokking for a "add-on" to MRTG...

Hello!

Im looking for a tool that monitors the status of some interfaces and at
least shows the status "admin down, up, down", if the tool can create
alarms when a configured interface (i.e not admin dowm) goes down it would
be very helpful. If the tool can interact with MRTG and the config files
(using IP adress as identifier) it would be very nice.

I have a idea of using MRTG and thresholds to monitor ".1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7
& .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8" but if there are a more optimeized tool out there I
rather use that.
