Thanks for the response Glenn,

Apologies for the poor subject line the first time around. This is a
cumulative parameter, so I wanted to use MRTG's default behaviour, as
opposed to the 'gauge' or 'absolute' options.

I've just downloaded 2.9.25 to see if it exhibits the same behaviour.

$ rsh xxx.yyy.76.92 /usr/local/bin/gostats2mrtg tablescans
136510
136510

p33c0
$ rsh xxx.yyy.76.92 /usr/local/bin/gostats2mrtg tablescans

$ rsh xxx.yyy.76.92 /usr/local/bin/gostats2mrtg tablescans
136528

p33c0

Regards,

Scott.

The second logfile you've pasted in is the same symptom I see when I
forget to use "Options[mumble]: gauge" or "Options[mumble]: absolute".

Can you paste in multiple runs of each permutation of 'gostats2mrtg'?
