[mrtg] Error when starting MRTG

Hello,

I am running into a problem when starting MRTG.  Let me give you my setup.
I am running Solaris 8.  I downloaded zlib-1.1.4, gd-1.8.3 and libpng-1.0.15
and compiled all of them as the documentation states.  No problems.  I then
downloaded mrtg-2.9.25 and compiled it with this command:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mrtg-2 --with-gd=/usr/local/gd-1.8.3
--with-z=/usr/local/zlib-1.1.4 --with-png=/usr/local/libpng-1.0.15

...just as the documentation suggests.  I have a config file, mrtg.cfg.
When I go to run mrtg the first time this is the message I get:

# mrtg /usr/local/mrtgstats/mrtg.cfg

I have a few questions:

1.  Where did libpng-1.0.10 and libpng-1.2.4 come from?  I thought that by
using the --with specification in the configure command that it would only
use what I told it.

2.  Which versions of libpng and gd are compatible?

3.  What is 'Argument "UNIX" isn't numeric in ne at
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg line 407'?  What is it looking for?

Any help would be great.
