I'm not really familiar with MRTG and Perl.

I just wanted to know how I would integrate that with my mrtg config file.

NT or *nix?  

NT:

1 - Use Mr Daemon or FireDaemon or a combination
2 - Use AT to schedule it 
3 - RunAsDaemon: Yes

*nix:

1 - cron every interval (usually every 5 minutes)
2 - RunAsDaemon: Yes
