MRTG supports v2. When I target an item, the last part will say:
[Target]......community at 109.233.45.2:::::2

the five ':' followed by a 2 indicates to use the defaults, then version
2...or something like that.

Hello,

I could be wrong but my understanding is that mrtg DOES support SNMPv2.
However, Perl does not. I have been unable to get v2 polling to work
properly and I have read a few threads that say the problem is in Perl,
not mrtg.

Anybody who knows the facts would be great to enlighten us here.

Have a GREAt Day!
Dave
