Bob

You will need to get ping.exe from either Win2k or Win98 as the ping.exe
from NT4 does not contain the summary info which ping probe uses to pump
into MRTG

Subject: [mrtg] Ping probe problems

It looks like ping probe is running but I do not get any information in the
log file.
When the script runs I get the following error messages:
ERROR: Could not find ping summary file for xx.xx.xx.xx
INFO: The output of the ping command -l 256 -n 20 xx.xx.xx.xx was:
	Reply from xx.xx.xx.xx: bytes=256 time = 40ms ttl = 253
(prints 20 times with time changing between 30 and 40ms.
then
new message appears that is same as above but for loss summary.

I can find these is the MRTG_PING_Probe script but at this time don't
understand what it is tring to do to establish the ping summary except that
it appears to be trying to pharse the output from the ping.

Can anyone help me understand what is happening? I am running this on NT
4.0 if that is any help.
Thanks
