[mrtg] $Today Value in MRTG Update Legend

The MRTG-generated HTML page displays an incorrect value for $Today when the
router is in a different timezone from the system used to generate the MRTG
HTML page, e.g. the local system time is inserted into the legend. However,
the graph generated by rateup is correctly adjusted for the timezone of the
router.
Have others noticed this problem or is it something that is unique to the
configuration of my system? How was the problem addressed?
