Do you use the same process to generate config files
on routers and switches? Have you looked at the
configs themselves? It sounds like that script puts
a Directory qualifier in each Included file for the
switches.

I've never used the configmaker.cisco script. What
extra info does it give?

I found out that this only happend when I used the cfgmaker.cisco config
script that comes in the contrib directory, I have not had a chance to look
at the script and see what makes it do this. Configuring the workdir with a
trailing "\" does not seem to make a diffrence regardless of configuration
script used to make the actual .cfg file.

Subject: Re: [mrtg] MRTG Configuration

Does it matter if there is no "\" at the end of the WorkDir?

Do you have a Directory option anywhere in the switch configs?
Does it create a directory for each target, or each Include, or some
other kind of pattern?

Ok, this is a dumb question but I can't figure it out. I have
configured two instances of mrtg, one for router monitoring and one for
switch monitoring. The first instance (router) dumps the .rrd tool database
files into the directory I have specified in the mrtg config (WorkDir:
E:\wwwroot\mrtg\routers\), now on the second instance I have configure the
global options the exact ame with the exception of the "WorkDir:
E:\wwwroot\mrtg\switches" option, the problem comes in when mrtg runs, it
creates separate directories for each switch. My config file is a standard
mrtg config file, with "include:" statements for each separate switch, what
am I missing, this configuration works with the routers; just not with the
switch config.

Thanks you,
