[mrtg] Spikes

Hi, I get BIG spikes in my graphs when I reload a Cisco 3640 with an ATM interface.  All atm sub interfaces show this spike right after a reload (or perhaps during reload).  I'm using rrdtool, is it possible to "edit" these out or somehow work around this?
