Telnet to your switch and issue the command 'show version'
This is what I get on my switch:

       DRAM FLASH NVRAM
Module Total Used Free Total Used Free Total Used Free
------ ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ----- ----- -----
1 65408K 42834K 22574K 16384K 9896K 6488K 512K 274K 238K

(The memory part of show version, anyway)

Here's that section on my MRTG log for that switch using my OID's:

You can see that the first oid is for memory used and the second one is
memory free.
Take a look at the MRTG page for that switch:
http://redhook.univ-wea.com/mrtg/cisco.farm1.memory.html

Maybe I'm wrong 'cause I found the oid's on my own, but they look pretty
close ;)
Hope it helps.

If any cisco gurus wanna help us out here I would sure appreciate it...

When I used your OID, I got a value but I'm not sure how valid it is.

Here is the log file from OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0

What to you get when you do an snmpget on 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0?

I'm graphing memory used and memory free on a 6509 and the oid's that I'm
using are:
Memory used: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1
Memory free: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1

Hello everyone. I am trying to graph free memory on a Cisco 3500 switch. I
looked up the IOD for it and configured the mrtg config file as follows:

#### Free Memory ######

Target[Cisco.mem]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0:public at 172.16.1.2
MaxBytes[Cisco.mem]: 3421612
Options[Cisco.mem]: growright, nopercent, gauge
XSize[Cisco.mem]: 380
YSize[Cisco.mem]: 100
YLegend[Cisco.mem]: RAM Free (KB)
ShortLegend[Cisco.mem]: Bytes
LegendI[Cisco.mem]: KB
LegendO[Cisco.mem]:
Title[Cisco.mem]: Free memory
PageTop[Cisco.mem]:
Catalyst 3500XL - Free memory

However, the graph is showing me there is 0MB free all the time, I don't
believe that is correct. I looked at the .log file and all the values it's
getting back from the switch are Zeros. Any ideas? IS the OID correct?

Thanks,
Yanal
