Thanks, I got it. I needed to make the max value 70000000, then it worked. I
still don't get it 100% though. It seems that the switch has 12MB or so of
memory, but when I put the max value at 12000000 or 15000000, I don't get a
graph.

Because that's not 27 mb, it's 2 mb. And 9159288 is larger
than your MaxBytes of 3421612 while 2727932 is less than
than. Up your MaxBytes to something larger than 9159288
and you should be A-ok.

I don't get why it's not graphing the used memory. Here is the log file:

1023133448 2727932 9159288
1023133448 2727932 0 2727932 0
1023133149 2727668 0 2727668 0
1023132900 2727882 0 2727928 0
1023132600 2725451 0 2727928 0
1023132300 2725115 0 2725152 0
1023132000 2724218 0 2725152 0
1023131700 2015836 0 2724272 0
1023131400 0 0 0 0
1023131100 0 0 0 0
1023130800 0 0 0 0
1023130500 0 0 0 0

it's graphing and calculating the 27MB of free memory, but it's not doing
anything with the 9MB used reading??

What to you get when you do an snmpget on 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0?

I'm graphing memory used and memory free on a 6509 and the oid's that I'm
using are:
Memory used: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1
Memory free: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1

Hello everyone. I am trying to graph free memory on a Cisco 3500 switch. I
looked up the IOD for it and configured the mrtg config file as follows:

#### Free Memory ######

Target[Cisco.mem]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.8.0:public at 172.16.1.2
MaxBytes[Cisco.mem]: 3421612
Options[Cisco.mem]: growright, nopercent, gauge
XSize[Cisco.mem]: 380
YSize[Cisco.mem]: 100
YLegend[Cisco.mem]: RAM Free (KB)
ShortLegend[Cisco.mem]: Bytes
LegendI[Cisco.mem]: KB
LegendO[Cisco.mem]:
Title[Cisco.mem]: Free memory
PageTop[Cisco.mem]:
Catalyst 3500XL - Free memory

However, the graph is showing me there is 0MB free all the time, I don't
believe that is correct. I looked at the .log file and all the values it's
getting back from the switch are Zeros. Any ideas? IS the OID correct?

Thanks,
Yanal
