[mrtg] installation issues on FreeBSD 4.5

 Has anyone had any trouble installing mrtg on FreeBSD 4.5 lately?
I've installed it roughly 10 +times successfully, and , now,suddenly Freetype is having issues. I've attemped to download different versions of freetype, yet the install fails with that program. downloaded newer and older  versions of GNU make, re-installed
FreeBSD 4.5 from FTP,CD, 4.4,etc...
tried NO_CHECKSUM=yes.
seems there is something wrong with it's makefile.
if anyone has a wok around , please reply thanks
