[mrtg] Converting Cells to Bits?

I am monitoring several ATM switches that only return in-and-out traffic in
cells and I'd like to try and convert this data to bits.  I know there are
53 bytes in a cell and 8 bits to each byte.  But, when I try to perform some
multipliers on my Target: line MRTG spits out some errors (sorry, I don't
have the logfile with me right now).

First of all, is this type of conversion (within the .cfg file) possible?

If so, does anyone have a good example or can point me to one on the web
somewhere?
