Hi Markus,

These env variables are usefull when working with thresholds.
See ThreshProgO[...], ThreshProgI[...], ThresMaxO[...] etc.
As long as you don't use any threshold checking it doesn't do any harm to
delete this "SetEnv[...]" line. On the other hand, if you think you might
want to do some threshold checking in the future it is easier to leave them
in the configuration file.

Jan.

Subject: [mrtg] MRTG_INT_IP and MRTG_INT_DESCR ?

    Hi,

I hope this doesn't sound completely dumb. I've seen quite
some mrtg configurations and often see configuration
    directives like this:

    SetEnv[localhost_2]: MRTG_INT_IP="<ip-address>"
MRTG_INT_DESCR="<interface-name>"

It's automatically generated with cfgmaker for example, but
I've no clue where the env variables MRTG_INT_IP /
MRTG_INT_DESCR are used and what particular role they're
playing. I've searched throgh the sources but couldn't find
    any explanation about it.

I get the feeling this is only an example for third party
    applications ... ?

thanks for clearing this up :-)

    - Markus
