Myself I'm thinking of installing cygnus and running the unix-style cron
daemon (didn't yet test it, should work though), in order to have access to
a configurations like 

#minute hour day-month month day-week (0-Sunday)
0,30 * * * * some-program

instead of 2*24 entries in the scheduler.
