Hello, I'm monitoring a cisco c3500xl ios 12.0(5.1)XP. It has one interface
running gigabit fibre that is running close to maximum. It appears that when
the counter is over 120K mrtg/rdd doesn't graph on the inbound side,
outbound still graphs. Counters never seem to go over 120 current but max
showes 122k. Is this a 64bit counter issue as related to SNMPv2 and
mrtg/rdd? I tried using the latest SNMP_Session.pm/BER.pm from
http://www.switch.ch/misc/leinen/snmp/perl without resolution.
Does anyone have something similar to this scenario working correctly?
thanks
Bjl

Subject: [mrtg] snmp v2 problems
Hello,
What's the situation with SNMPv2 and fixes used and if this isn't just my
problem is it on the to be fixed list?
Here's my environment:
active state perl v.629
mrtg v2.9.17
win2k
the device is a cisco c3500xl ios 12.0(5.1)XP
Here's the old version cfgmaker line:
cfgmaker --output=d:\mrtg\out\switches\switch10.cfg --no-down --descint
--subdirs=SNMPNAME_HOSTNAME public at switchIP
... logs 100mb ports fine but my 1G fibre port wraps over 32bit counter.
Here's what I just changed:
cfgmaker --output=d:\mrtg\out\switches\switch10.cfg --no-down
--snmp-options=:::::2 --descint --subdirs=SNMPNAME_HOSTNAME public at switchIP
... mrtg logs nothing.
globals are:
Htmldir: d:\\inetmrtg\www\switches
Imagedir: d:\\inetmrtg\www\switches
Logdir: d:\\mrtg\logs\switcheslog
LogFormat: rrdtool
IconDir: \mrtg\images\
PathAdd: d:\\mrtg\rrdtool\bin
LibAdd: d:\\perl\site\lib
RunAsDaemon: yes
thanks
