[mrtg] mrtg on cisco tunnel interface

hi all,

i've been using mrtg to monitor traffic on our 
cisco router serial interfaces and have not encountered any problem.

but when i tried monitoring our tunnel interface, i can't get 
any mrtg graph for its traffic.  i've already checked the tunnel
interface inside the cisco router and verified that there is traffic
using "show interface tunnel" cisco command:

  5 minute input rate 89000 bits/sec, 28 packets/sec
  5 minute output rate 166000 bits/sec, 54 packets/sec

are there any special config options in order to successfully
monitor traffic in a tunnel interface?

any suggestion will be appreciated.
