This is an excellent point. Given the ability of computer hardware to
accurately measure time, this should not be a big deal, but a start
would be to trigger the next "event" at the start of the current event
plus a time lapse, e.g. trigger collections at 15:00:00.00, 15:02:00.00,
etc. Of course there are going to be both systematic and random
variations here, and perhaps this is the limit that one can achieve with
MRTG (I assume that the engineers who designed this gave some thought to
making 5 minutes the interval, so mucking with that might not be a good
idea).
