Well it has been so long ago. I got the big cisco mib "zipped" from
mibcentral "http://12.47.45.123/index.shtml", I do know that. I also had
asked the question a year or so ago on the group and found a few others who
said that was what I was looking for.

Not sure.

Cisco's site said there wasn't a b/p MIB for these as no poitn monitoring
these....

Which MIB is that from?

Michael

Depends on model of switch.....

There is no backplane MIB / OID for the low-end 2900/3500 switches.

For 4006's (and larger IOS based switches) I use:

Target[$target_name]:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8.0&.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.19.0:$router_connect

For 5500's / 6500's (and other CatOS based switches) I use:

Target[$target_name]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8.0&.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.19.0:$router_connect

This is from CISCO-STACK-MIB
