[mrtg] Altering values on a graph

I need to alter how MRTG interprets the value which is
returned from a query.

The following figure is the amount of emails sent from
an Exchange server which is over 1 million.

1290126.0 

The MRTG graph shows a figure of 1320.0

I guess the question is 'how do I get mrtg to move the
decimal point ?'
