Options[c1-r.vlan14.octets]: bits

I want to switch to the 5 min counter, but people here also want to keep
the 
history if possible. 
 
How can I convert the normal interface load (logfile) for an interface
to the  
Cisco 5 min load (which is an gauge type entry). It seems that roughly
all  
values are devided by 8, but possibly the counters in the mrtg logfiles
are  
build in an other way. Simply multiplying all values by 8 (behind the
date 
field) probably wont do the trick. 
 
The "10.1.0.2-10-octets-day.png" file is the graph in the old (octets)
format, 
the  
"c1-r.vlan14.octets-day.png" file is the output from the 5 min counter. 
 
Hope anyone can help.
