[mrtg] problems with 2.9.17 -> 2.9.25 upgrade

Hi!

I'm having _sometimes_ (not all the time) problems with MRTG 2.9.25.
My old 2.9.17 works fine without any problems. This is on NetBSD 1.6
if that matters.

However, tcpdump show traffic between my server and the switch (4 similar
sequences after the following two packets, i.e. 5 retries) so it must be
something else.
