 Hi there!!

I want to configure my snmpdtrapd.conf
 file.Presently
i am running snmpd on one of my linux machines which
also running mrtg say it 'A'.This linux uses
Slackware. From the cisco side i.e routers and access
servers i can send traps to my snmpd machine 'A'.Now
all these trap messages are coming onto the
/var/log/messages file of machine 'A'.Note that all
this scenario is restricted to my LAN only.
 I have a file /var/ucd-snmp/snmptrapd.conf which
 contains the followin entries:
 engineBoots 7
 oldEngineID 0x800007e501cb82020c

Now i need to enable traphandles in it and so that a
trap gets generated as soon as an enterprise trap is
received such as the logs show:
 ........ interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.2 = 2,
  enterprises.2011.2.3.1.2.1.10.1.0 = 126

......tcp.tcpConnTable.tcpConnEntry.tcpConnState.203.130.5.139.79.203.130.2.12.4304
 = established(5),

enterprises.9.2.6.1.1.5.203.130.5.139.79.203.130.2.12.4304
  = Timeticks: (76) 0:00:00.76,

enterprises.9.2.6.1.1.1.203.130.5.139.79.203.130.2.12.4304
  = 2,

enterprises.9.2.6.1.1.2.203.130.5.139.79.203.130.2.12.4304
  = 1897, enterprises.9.2.9.2.1.18.62 = ""
  ...........

Q1) could somebody translate this and also how could
  i
relate this to my snmptrap.conf file .

Q2) also how could this be also related to the
threshold option in mrtg cfg file.
Q3)I need to send traps to specific email addresses
as soon as a trap is recived showing some abnormal
status and also the trap should be generated as soon
as there is violation in the threshold levels
defined in the mrtg cf file for the specific entry or
interface etc
Regards,
 Marc.
