[mrtg] Help on unrring MRTG for the first time.

I get the following error on first time running of MRTG:

Can't locate package $VERSION for @MRTG_lib::ISA at ./mrtg line 59
        main::BEGIN() called at
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/../lib/mrtg2/MRTG_lib.pm line 59
        eval {...} called at
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/../lib/mrtg2/MRTG_lib.pm line 59
ERROR: Line 701 (workdir=/usr/local/apache/htdocs/) in CFG file
(mrtg.conf)  does not make sense

I am running MRTG version 2.90.20
Solaris 8 on a SPARC 5

The version in the Mrtg_lib.pm file is 2.090017 Is that right?  I did
the default on all the makes
