Dominic,
Forget the archives, RTFM.
You want to measure traffic on an interface on an SNMP managed device (your
w2kPro box)? That's what MRTG, in it's simplest form, does.
Build a CFG using Cfgmaker. Pick the interface you are interested in (1
tends to be loopback, Micro$oft gives the ethernet interface has a
meaningful, helpful number like 16777219)
Run MRTG.

hye !!
i'm having some major issues in getting my win2k (pro for now, server if i
can get this working) monitoring to work at all.

any direction someone can point me to (besides back to the archives) :)
